England gamers John Simpson and Tymal Mills have been named as Sussex captains forward of the 2024 season.
Wicketkeeper-batter Simpson has joined from Middlesex and has initially been given the job for the primary seven County Championship matches.
Quick bowler Mills can be skipper for the T20 Blast – except he’s picked by England for the T20 World Cup.
“If he’s, then we are going to reassess that scenario,” head coach Paul Farbrace told the Sussex website.
Mills, 31, has performed 16 T20 internationals and brought 234 wickets general within the sport’s shortest format, taking part in in home competitions all around the world.
Simpson, 35, made three appearances for England in 50-over matches in 2021 and has scored greater than 9,000 runs in first-class cricket, together with 10 centuries, and brought 626 catches.
Explaining why he has not but been given the red-ball captaincy for all the season, Farbrace stated: “He desires to ensure he is completely the appropriate individual to be captain.
