Warrington Wolves may have a particular customer to the Halliwell Jones Stadium later this season, when actor Russell Crowe arrives to play a gig within the city, says head coach Sam Burgess.
The pair are good mates after Burgess joined South Sydney Rabbitohs in 2010, a membership Crowe co-owns.
Burgess, a 2014 NRL Grand Remaining winner with Souths, in now in his first head coach position with the Wire.
“I converse to Russell typically,” Burgess advised BBC Radio Manchester.
“We had just a few days off final week, he was in Rome, so I flew to Rome to see him and we watched a little bit of rugby union and frolicked.
“He is a terrific supporter of Warrington, he is mates with [owner] Simon Moran and has been for a very long time and he is promoted his music tour he is doing. He’ll be at a recreation hopefully quickly.”
Crowe performs Warrington Parr Corridor on 4 July, with a date in Dublin on 1 July and Paris on the 6 July, but in addition has gigs in London, Leeds and Inverness later within the month.
