Wicketkeeper-batter James Rew has signed a contract extension to stick with Somerset till the top of 2026.
He turned the membership’s youngest first-class double centurion in July – and has six red-ball centuries in all.
Rew ended the marketing campaign as Division One’s third-highest run-scorer, with 1,086 in 14 matches.
“James is an impressive expertise who has excelled over the previous few years,” director of cricket Andy Hurry mentioned.
“His performances and consistency with the bat and gloves have grown considerably.
“He has skilled an enormous quantity in a brief house of time and it is completely very important that we proceed to nurture his expertise so he can obtain all of his aspirations throughout the sport.”
Rew made his Somerset debut in August 2021 and was a part of the England Underneath-19 workforce that reached the ultimate of the World Cup that yr.
The earlier two Somerset batters to attain centuries as youngsters have been Marcus Trescothick and James Hildreth, and head coach Jason Kerr has beforehand touted him for a senior England call-up.
