Valencia’s former Wolves striker Rafa Mir has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault, Spanish police stated on Tuesday.
His membership stated that they had been “conscious” of 27-year-old Mir’s arrest and BBC Sport understands Mir was not current at a coaching session on Tuesday.
“He’s below arrest for alleged sexual assault,” a spokesperson for Spain’s Civil Guard police power informed the AFP information company.
Experiences of the participant’s arrest had emerged in Spanish media earlier on Tuesday.
In a press release posted on the membership’s web site, Valencia added: “In relation to the press reviews which have appeared concerning the arrest of Valencia CF participant Rafa Mir, the Membership is conscious of stated arrest and, within the absence of particulars about it, for the second it may possibly solely state that it’ll cooperate in every little thing that justice could require.”
