Jannik Sinner says a “new chapter is beginning” in his profession after he turned the primary Italian to high the world rankings.
The 22-year-old changed Novak Djokovic as world primary on Monday, with the Serb dropping to 3rd after 39 weeks on the high.
Sinner has had a stellar 2024, winning the Australian Open in January and the Miami Open in March.
He reached the semi-finals of the French Open, shedding to eventual champion Carlos Alcaraz in 5 units.
“We go looking now and see what we are able to catch,” Sinner instructed BBC World Service.
“We need to have these good emotions of lifting trophies again and again, so for us it is simply a part of the method.
“I’m clearly very joyful about being primary, however everybody desires to beat me now.
“Now a brand new chapter is beginning. Let’s have a look at how a lot I can keep there.”
