NEW DELHI (AP) — A person was crushed to dying within the northern Indian metropolis of Amritsar after he allegedly tried to commit a sacrilegious act contained in the historic Golden Temple, one among Sikhs’ most revered shrines.
The incident occurred throughout the each day night prayer on Saturday, media reported, after the person jumped over a railing contained in the inside sanctum and tried to seize a sword that was saved close to the Guru Granth Sahib, the Sikh holy e-book.

Police advised New Delhi Tv that the person was killed after the incident and that they have been checking CCTV footage to glean extra info.
“The person, about 20 to 25 years of age, had a yellow fabric tied on his head and jumped the fence … the individuals inside held him and escorted him out to the hall the place there was a violent altercation and he died,” Parminder Singh Bandal, deputy commissioner of Amritsar police, advised the channel.
The chief minister of Punjab state, the place Amritsar is positioned, strongly condemned the incident, calling it essentially the most “unlucky and heinous act to try sacrilege,” his workplace tweeted late on Saturday.
