Former Leeds Rhinos and Nice Britain centre Garry Schofield has revealed he has been identified with mind injury.
The 59-year-old, who made greater than 250 appearances for Leeds in addition to taking part in for Hull FC and Huddersfield Giants, made the main points public in his final column for the Total Rugby League newspaper, external.
Schofield, who scored 31 tries in 46 caps for Nice Britain, is stepping again from media work inside the sport on account of his situation.
He mentioned he had acquired the prognosis in March 2023 and can ultimately develop dementia.
Schofield underwent surgical procedure to have a watch eliminated in September 2022 which he says led to “complications, migraines, forgetfulness, nervousness and lack of focus, all of which led to my mind injury prognosis”.
