Earlier this week, 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic refused to do his regular on-court interview after his fourth-round win towards Jiri Lehecka following what he described as “insulting and offensive” feedback by Channel 9’s Tony Jones.

Jones shouted “Novak, he is over-rated, Novak’s a has-been, Novak kick him out” in the direction of Djokovic followers whereas reside on air on the Australian Open on Friday.

The Australian broadcaster has since apologised for his remarks however Shelton says that incident was not a one-off.

“I have been a bit bit shocked this week with how gamers have been handled by the broadcasters,” he stated.
