Luton City have condemned “abhorrent and unacceptable” racist abuse despatched to ahead Elijah Adebayo.
The Championship membership stated the 26-year-old was despatched a racially abusive message on Instagram throughout their 2-1 defeat by Sunderland on Wednesday.
That message has been reported to the police and Instagram proprietor Meta for additional investigation, Luton added.
It’s not the primary time Luton have referred to as out racist remarks despatched to Adebayo on social media, with the striker saying final October he was “drained” of the abuse aimed toward him.
“We’re indignant, upset and annoyed to report that racist abuse has been directed in the direction of Elijah Adebayo,” the membership said on their website,, external in a press release titled ‘Is It Ever Going to Cease?’.
“Identical to we stated a 12 months in the past, and identical to we’ll do WHENEVER a participant or employees member is subjected to abuse, we’ll stand by and help Elijah unequivocally.
