Valencia’s former Wolves striker Rafa Mir has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault, Spanish police stated on Tuesday.

His membership stated that they had been “conscious” of 27-year-old Mir’s arrest and BBC Sport understands Mir was not current at a coaching session on Tuesday.

“He’s below arrest for alleged sexual assault,” a spokesperson for Spain’s Civil Guard police power informed the AFP information company.

Experiences of the participant’s arrest had emerged in Spanish media earlier on Tuesday.
