PA MediaThe inquest into the dying of former England and Surrey cricketer Graham Thorpe has been opened and adjourned.
Mr Thorpe died after being struck by a prepare on 4 August at a railway station, the transient listening to on Tuesday heard.
The 55-year-old took his personal life in Esher, Surrey, his spouse Amanda Thorpe beforehand mentioned.
The inquest was opened and adjourned at Woking Coroner’s Courtroom.
Coroner Simon Wickens provided honest condolences to Mr Thorpe’s household and all those that had been touched by his life and profession.
In an interview with The Times, Mrs Thorpe mentioned her husband had been affected by melancholy and nervousness over latest years.
“Regardless of having a spouse and two daughters whom he liked and who liked him, he didn’t get higher,” she mentioned.
Mr Thorpe’s daughter, Kitty, mentioned the household “aren’t ashamed” of speaking about his dying, including: “There may be nothing to cover and it’s not a stigma.”
The household say they’re now contemplating launching a foundation in his name.
