The New York Mets will designate Jorge López for project following a sequence of outbursts on Wednesday.
First, López was ejected within the eighth inning of the Mets’ 10-3 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers for shouting at third base umpire Ramon De Jesus over an attraction ruling on Freddie Freeman’s checked swing. López threw his glove into the stands on his means off of the sphere.
Then, when requested throughout his locker room media availability if he regretted throwing his glove into the stands, López referred to as the Mets “the worst group in the entire f—ing MLB.”
“No, I don’t remorse it. I feel I’ve been on the worst group in the entire f—ing MLB,” Lopez stated. “No matter occurs, occurs. No matter they wish to do. I will be right here tomorrow if they need me. No matter they wish to do. I’m going to maintain doing this factor. I’m wholesome. I’m prepared to return again tomorrow if they need me to be right here.”
The Mets signed López to a one-year contract in December. The Mets are 22-33 this season, which supplies them the second-worst file within the NL East.
