Philadelphia 76ers centre Joel Embiid has been fined $35,000 (£28,800) for repeatedly making an “obscene gesture” towards the Portland Path Blazers.
The incident occurred within the third quarter of Sunday’s sport when Embiid made a two-point basket and was fouled by Malcom Brogdon.
Embiid, 29, subsequently missed the free throw, although the 76ers received 126-98 at Wells Fargo Middle.
The Cameroonian is a six-time All-Star and was named NBA MVP in 2022-23.
Sport highs in factors (35) and rebounds (15) from Embiid helped the 76ers to report their second win of the season they usually sit second within the Japanese Convention.
The 76ers host the Toronto Raptors of their subsequent outing on 3 November.
